You may have remember a few months back when Augen released what could only be described as a sad attempt at an Android powered netbook, the GenBook108. For those that rushed to K-Mart and spent the $100 on the device, they were met with cheap hardware, poor build quality and units that would occasionally power on. Yeah, it was that bad.
Well, after 2 years of dismal sales and lackluster products, Augen may have finally gone the way of the dinosaur. Apparently their website has been down for over a month and the company is no longer returning emails or phone calls. I guess no amount of shoddy e-readers or poor Android devices could have saved them. R.I.P., Augen.

I bought an Augen eReader (Not android powered) for $50 and I like it. Not saying they make anything else good (THEY DONT), but I like their eReader called “TheBook”
Yeah, I was noticing the only good thing people had to say about Augen’s products were their e-readers. Apparently, they weren’t half bad?
Yeah. I got mine from Menards (yes, the hardware/home improvement store) for $100 with $50 mail in rebate. Great deal, it came with a ton of free ebooks, mostly old classic ones.
The only complaint I have is the battery life. If I used it a ton, It would be bad, but it still lasts the 7 hours I need it during school.
