Motorola XOOM Keyboard-Enabled Folio Case Coming

15

Just the other day I read one of you commenters saying that all tablet makers would rush to pair their devices to keyboards in one way or another, and it looks like Motorola is the next OEM to do just that. They’re set to introduce a folio case that has a bluetooth keyboard embedded that can be paired with the XOOM. The case wraps around the entire device when it’s closed, and although it isn’t exactly a smooth experience like the Transformer, it’s as good as it’s going to get. No word on pricing and availability just yet. [Droid-Life]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  2. UGH, WHY MAKE A TAB IF YOU’RE JUST GONNA SLAP A KEYBOARD ON IT??? JUST MAKE A MOTHERFUCKING TOUCHSCREEN LAPTOP. CAPS.

    1. This is why I see no purpose for the capslock key on a keyboard. They should replace it with something more useful, or at least remove it from this man’s keyboard.

      1. caps lock key should be replaced with a tazer.

  3. Ok, but I hope Moto doesn’t think that the keyboard dock is the reason the Transformer is doing so well at launch and not the 200-dollar price difference.

Do you have some sales numbers to back that up?

      1. It’s impossible to know since they didn’t make nearly enough of them. Still, there seemed to be much more excitement about it than for the XOOM.

  4. Doesn’t this defeat the purpose of a tablet. If you really going to get a dock for tablet wouldn’t you rather get a MBA or betbook?

  5. Seems like a long way around the block to convert your tablet to a laptop

  6. I like the idea of a key board if done like Asus. You get extra ports and battery life, otherwise I do not want it. I want low weight and thinness so that I hardly notice the device in my bag.

  7. How about lowering that price instead? I bet that wold help much more than this case. Besides, all it is is a keyboard. Should have put a trackpad on it too.

  8. man you guys all whine like chics that they are offering an option for some to use a keyboard. wah wah wah- no one is making you buy a keyboard. If you dont like it move along

  9. too bad wont be able to use on an airplane

  10.  I saw one in my Verizon store on their pricing computer. So not an actual product but the placeholder and it was priced at 99.00
