Some folks like nice flashy videos, short demonstration clips, and a robust set of images and bulletpoints to get them excited for things such as today’s Android 2.3 outing. Others like to read, and read Google has enabled you to do: They’ve uploaded the full user’s guide for Android 2.3 in PDF format. A lot of this stuff won’t seem new to you, but we do get more looks at several parts of the OS. For instance, the screen to begin device activation has a newly-designed mascot there ready to take you on your journey.
We also see that the guide itself was neglected in the QA process as they’ve used a shot of pre-2.3 Android to show users how to wake the phone up. And the Calendar has gotten a nice visual overhaul, as well, but we can’t tell from here if there is any new core functionality to be had. (This one has Mathias Duarte written all over it.) There’s probably a lot more to be had, but this guide is massive. Take a stroll through it for yourself right here. [Thanks to everyone who sent this in.]
You guys are rocking today, thanks for all the awesome updates!
1st!!!
@Rick, sorry loser …. seems like Aieres beat you already.
Finally, a decent text-selection touch UI! (pages 37-38)
Will Think Work on AT&T if i buy it unlocked? 3G?
I like the new downloads manager app.
lol…same crappy music player…oh well, it gets the job done I guess…
I remember when the galaxy S phones were being released and I defended Samsung saying that they had learned their lesson. All this gingerbread news is just making me and I’m sure other galaxy S users depressed/pissed. I’m never buying a Samsung phone again.
I can’t wait for this on my G2
I am trying to get the Droid users guide to come up so I can download it. No luck with this at the “take a strool through this”. Or send me a copy to:
