The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 was announced last year which means that this year, we can expect to see the Smart Band 9. Unfortunately, if you were hoping to see some major design changes, that might not be the case.
In a post on Reddit by u/F1REFLY, they have shared what are alleged renders of the Xiaomi Smart Band 9. If you’re wondering why the device looks so familiar, it is because apparently there won’t be any design changes made to the wearable. Is this a bad thing? We suppose you could argue the lack of design change makes it “boring”. Then again, at the price Xiaomi is selling its fitness trackers for, it’s hard to complain.
According to the post, other features we can expect from the device include display brightness that goes up to 1,200 nits, double the previous model. The display size and resolution will remain the same. The post also claims that the built-in SpO2 sensor will be 10% more accurate, whatever that means.
There is good news on the battery front as apparently it will see an increase of 23%. This is said to translate to about 21 days with the always-on display turned off. As for price, it looks like Xiaomi will keep it affordable at around 40 €. Take this with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we’ll have the official details soon.
