The cheaper OnePlus Watch 2 won’t compromise on performance

0

According to the rumors, OnePlus is apparently working on a cheaper version of the OnePlus Watch 2. The device could be known as the OnePlus Watch 2R. In order to make devices cheaper, companies usually go for lower-end hardware, but apparently that won’t be the case here.

This is according to tipster Ishan Agarwal who shared the alleged specs of the cheaper OnePlus Watch 2 on X. From what we can tell, it appears that the OnePlus Watch 2R could feature near-identical hardware specs as the regular model. This includes the use of the Snapdragon W5 and the BES2700 chipset, the same 1.43-inch display, along with 2GB of RAM with 32GB of storage.

So how will this be a cheaper smartwatch model? Apparently instead of a more premium stainless steel finish, the OnePlus Watch 2R could end up using aluminum. It seems that this could be enough to bring the overall price down, although exactly by how much is unclear. If you want to use the smartwatch for swimming, don’t worry, it will reportedly maintain its IP68 rating with 5ATM water-resistance.

OnePlus will be hosting an event on the 16th of July where new products will be announced. Hopefully this rumored cheaper OnePlus Watch 2 will make an appearance, so check back with us later for more updates.
