Back in the day, going on camping trips would involve you living off the land, so to speak. You’d have to build your own fires, use candles or small lamps to light up your camping area at night, and so on. These days, thanks to the advancements of technology, camping has gotten a bit more hi-tech with devices like power stations.
For those unfamiliar, power stations are basically like massive power banks that can power all manner of devices. This includes heaters, kettles, lights, and even recharge your mobile phones, tablets, laptops, cameras, and so on.
They aren’t just for the outdoors though, some models have enough capacity and power output where they can even act as a backup source of energy for your home in the event of a blackout.
Power stations can get expensive depending on the model you choose, but the good news is that Bluetti will be hosting a Spring Sale that kicks off on the 7th of March that will see them discount some of their power stations and accessories, so if you have been eyeing a power station, now’s a pretty good time to get your hands on one.
Bluetti AC500+B300S/AC500x2+B300S – Starts at $7,098 (save $500)
Speaking of home backups, if you need a power station that is powerful enough to power your home in the event of a blackout, or if your outdoor needs are greater than some of Bluetti’s smaller models, then the AC500 could just be what the doctor ordered.
The AC500 comes with a built-in 3,072Wh battery with a max input rate of 8,000 and supports both PV+AC. There is even support for fast charging that will let you juice it from 0-80% in just an hour.
What we like about the AC500 is that it is a modular system, meaning that you can combine it with the company’s B300S batteries so if the built-in 3,072Wh battery isn’t enough, or if you need a little extra juice, you can tack on a couple of B300S batteries that will prolong the amount of time you can use the power station for.
Bluetti EB3A+PV200 – Starts at $658 (Save $140)
Now, in case the AC500 and its modular system is bit too much for your needs and you want something that’s a little more portable and compact that you can easily stash in the trunk of your car, then the EB3A could be it.
This is an all-in-one solution where it comes with a 268Wh battery and supports 430W fast dual charging with solar and AC power. It also boasts the use of a LiFePO4 battery that is rated for 2,500 cycles, which means that you can easily use it for years on end and not worry about it losing too much of its charge.
There are also 9 different outputs for charging which means you can use it to charge and power all manner of devices. Like we mentioned earlier, it will also work with solar charging like Bluetti’s PV200 solar panels, so you can easily recharge the EB3A during the day even if you don’t have access to a direct power source.
Bluetti EB70S – Starts at $519 (Save $80)
If you’re looking for something that’s portable, the EB3A is actually a pretty good option. The only downside is that its battery is a bit small. If you need the extra juice but don’t really see the need to invest in a modular system, then maybe Bluetti’s EB70S could be a happy middle.
The EB70S comes with a built-in 716Wh battery, larger than what the EB3A offers, which should allow you to use it for a longer period of time. It also uses the same LiFePO4 battery rated for over 2,500 cycles, so it should be able to last you close to a decade before its battery capacity drops to 80%.
The EB70S also comes with a bunch of ports and outlets, include AC outlets, USB-A ports, PD ports that will help you charge your mobile devices quickly, and there’s even a wireless charging pad so you can charge a device like your phone or wireless earbuds without having to take up a port.
Bluetti AC300+2/B300 – Starts at $4998 (Save $1199)
So far we’ve been talking a lot about portable power solutions, which is great for campers or those who plan to travel cross country on an RV or a similar type of vehicle. But what if your needs are different? What if your plan is to use the power station as a backup power system for your home? Or maybe you just want to live off the grid completely?
That’s where Bluetti’s AC300 + B300 battery combo comes in. The AC300 comes with a built-in 3,072Wh battery, but you can add on extra B300 batteries, up to a max of four, for a combined total of 12,288Wh, which is a crazy amount of battery that will let you power your home for an extended period of time.
The built-in battery is a LiFePO4 battery that is rated for 3,500 cycles, and there is also support for solar charging so in theory, if you can get enough sunlight, you won’t ever need to plug your home into the grid. There is also UPS home backup so in the event there is a power outage, your devices will continue to function without any interruptions, perfect for users who might need to keep their computers or medical equipment powered continuously.
Bluetti AC200MAX+3/PV200 – Starts at $3046 (Save $450)
Next up we have the AC200MAX. This is a slightly smaller version of the A300 with a built-in 2,048Wh battery, but similar to the AC300, it can be expanded using Bluetti’s B230 batteries or B300 batteries for a combined total of 6,144Wh and 8,192Wh battery capacity respectively.
AC300+B300 Starts at $2999 (Was $3898, Save $899)
The AC200MAX can also deliver up to 2,200W of power so it can power and charge all manner of electronics. There are a total of 14 different outlets so unless you have more than 14 different devices, it should be more than enough for most use case scenarios. There are also two top-mounted wireless charging pads to help you free up some ports for devices like phones, tablets, or wireless earbuds.
Bluetti AC200P+B300 – Starts at $3398 (Save $600)
Like we said earlier, the AC200MAX has a total of 14 ports which is generally enough for most users, but in case you’re the exception, or maybe you want extra ports just to be safe, then the AC200P could be worth taking a look at as it supports a whopping 17 outputs for multiple devices.
It does pack a slightly smaller 2,000Wh battery compared to the AC200MAX, but we reckon the 48Wh difference probably won’t be too noticeable. It also supports 1,100W fast dual charging. Users can further expand on the AC200P’s battery by adding on either the B23 or B300 batteries for a combined total of 4,048Wh and 5,072Wh respectively.
Bluetti PV350 – Starts at $769 (Save $80)
Similar to power banks, you generally need to connect Bluetti’s power stations to some kind of power outlet if you want to recharge its batteries, but for the most part, many of the company’s power stations do support solar charging.
This is perfect for those who might be trying to save money and if you have an area that is covered by sufficient sunlight, solar panels like the PV350 could go a long way in helping you cut down your electricity bill when recharging your power stations.
In the case of the PV350, it uses monocrystalline cells with up to 23.4% efficiency, and it is also covered by ETFE materials and equipped with an IP65 junction box so that it can withstand the outdoors. It can also be folded down, making it easy for you to store when not in use and while transporting.
