Sony has recently announced that Android 13 will finally make its way to the Sony Xperia 10 III, via an OTA update. The system upgrade comes with software version number 62.2.A.0.367, and will include the January 2023 Android security patch.
Launched back in 2021, the Xperia 10 III was the most affordable smartphone in Sony’s lineup that year, and came with hardware including a 6-inch OLED display, 12-megapixel camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 chipset, 6GB of RAM, and a 4,500 mAh battery, all wrapped up in a polycarbonate shell. It also came with IP68 dust and water resistance, although it has since been succeeded by the Xperia 10 IV, which comes with similar specifications.
In other recent Sony news, several image renders of the company’s next flagship smartphone – currently known as the Xperia 1 V – have popped up online. The photos and specs were shared by online tipster @onLeaks and tech site Green Smartphones, and reveal a design that’s not too different from the current crop of Sony handsets, including the Xperia 1 IV.
As for Android 13, users can head to their Settings app to check if the new software update is available. With that said, the update should begin rolling out to users in the US and Canada, with more regions soon to follow.
