New MediaTek Dimensity 8200 will make gaming smartphonephones more accessible

0

Over the years, we’ve seen the rise of smartphones designed for gaming. These phones include both hardware and software features that would help gamers better optimize their mobile gaming experience, whether we’re talking about ways to boost the phone’s performance, being able to shut off notifications, or better cooling, and so on.

That being said, sometimes these gaming phones don’t come cheap, but MediaTek wants to address that issue as the company has since announced its latest chipset, the MediaTek Dimensity 8200. It has been designed to boost the mobile gaming experience while putting it at a more accessible price point.

The Dimensity 8200 will boast features like an octa-core CPU that includes four powerful Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 3.1GHz. It will also be using the Mali-G610 GPU. It will also feature MediaTek’s HyperEngine 6.0 that helps ensure a smoother frame rate without suffering connection drops, jitters, or hiccups, and there is also the use of MediaTek’s Intelligent Display Sync 2.0 that can adjust the refresh rate of the phone’s display according to the game’s frame rate.

In addition to boosting the gaming experience, the Dimensity 8200 will also allow handset manufacturers to include things like cameras that can capture up to 320MP images, 14-bit HDR videos with AI-powered noise reduction that will smoothen out images taken in low-light.

It also comes with a 5G modem so that users can get onto 5G networks on phones that are more affordable. There is also support for WiFi 6E, which means that users should be futureproofed for the foreseeable future.
