WhatsApp users are in for a treat – the Meta-owned messaging service has recently announced some major changes and features for the app, which should add some much-welcome developments in terms of overall usability.

The chat service has finally rolled out its new Community feature, which lets users connect multiple groups under a single umbrella. The new update also adds support for in-chat polls, video calls which can host up to 32 people simultaneously, and groups can now hold a maximum of up to 1,024 members. The new features are accessible under a tab in the app, which will come with admin options to create new Communities or add existing groups to a Community.
In recent WhatsApp news, it seems that the platform is testing out a way that will enable users to send messages to themselves, via a future update to the app. This was initially spotted by WABetaInfo, where it was found out that beta testers could access the feature by creating a new chat and then selecting themselves as their chat contact.
With that said, it should be interesting to see this be officially added in the future, given the massive new updates that the messaging platform has just implemented.
