OnePlus might have been one of the first, if not the first, Android smartphone manufacturer to roll out Android 13 for its smartphones (not counting Google’s own Pixel phones). The good news is that if you happen to own a Samsung phone, your turn isn’t too far behind.
During the Samsung Developer Conference 2022, Samsung has confirmed that the One UI 5.0 beta is expected to come to an end soon and that the update is expected to roll out for the public later this month. There were no specific dates mentioned, but seeing as we’re already halfway into October, we’ve only got a couple of weeks to go.
There was no mention of Samsung’s other flagship phones like the Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Flip 4, or 2021’s Galaxy S21, but hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for those. If you recall, there was a report from last month that hinted that all of Samsung’s flagship phones from 2021 and 2022 are expected to receive the Android 13 update by the end of the year, so hopefully that’s still on track.
Keep in mind that while the update may be released, when you will receive it will depend on several factors like your region as well as in some instances, it might be subject to carrier approval too, but either way it’s good that we now have some sort of timeline to look forward to.
