When it comes to charging the batteries of modern day smartphones, what’s really common these days is fast charging as well as wireless charging. Unfortunately, not all smartphone makers are on board with wireless charging, like OnePlus and the OnePlus 10T which oddly enough has omitted the feature.
itThe good news is that if wireless charging is a must-have feature for you, then you will be happy to learn that adding wireless charging retroactively is actually a pretty simple and straightforward process if you don’t mind spending a little bit of money, so here’s what you need to do.
What you will need
To give your OnePlus 10T wireless charging, you will need a couple of accessories to start:
- A wireless charging adapter
- A wireless charger
Wireless charging adapter
As the OnePlus 10T lacks native wireless charging, what you’ll need is a wireless charging adapter. This is basically an external piece of technology that provides wireless charging to the device it’s connected to. In a way, it’s the same tech you would find in phones with wireless charging, except that it is now placed externally.
The upside to this is that if you want wireless charging, it makes it easy to add the feature to your phone. The downside is that it will take up the USB-C port on your device that you would otherwise use to transfer data or to charge it in wired mode.
Also, another thing to note is that the wired charging on the OnePlus 10T is pretty fast, whereas wireless charging using third-party accessories can be a bit slow. This means that you’ll have to decide whether or not the convenience of wireless charging outweighs that of a faster wired charging, but at least you’ll have options.

As we mentioned previously, since the phone lacks native wireless charging, you’re pretty much at the mercy of what third-party charging accessories have to offer. In most cases it can be pretty slow, especially when you consider the fact that there are phones with native wireless charging that can go as fast as 50W, but like we said, if the convenience of going wireless is something you must have, then this is the compromise you’ll have to make.
