Latest Android 13 Beta reveals new Pixel tablet with a dock accessory

0

The last time Google launched their own branded Android tablet was way, way back in 2015 with the Google Pixel C. Since then, the company has mostly focused on smartphones, but to everyone’s surprise, the company announced during I/O 2022 that they would be launching a new tablet in 2023.

Now thanks to the folks at 9to5Google, they have discovered that within the latest Android 13 Beta some designs that hint that the Pixel tablet could come with a new dock accessory. When Google initially confirmed plans for a tablet, they did not reveal much regarding specs, features, or accessories, so this is a first, but it’s not really too much of a stretch of the imagination.

With the docking accessory, the upcoming Pixel tablet starts to resemble another Google product, the Nest Hub, which is a smart display. It pretty much functions like a tablet except that it isn’t really that portable. At least with this Pixel tablet and the dock accessory, it gives users the choice of using the tablet as a tablet, or having it double as a smart display as and when they need.

We’re not too sure what kind of hardware Google could be packing into the Pixel tablet, but it’s something that we’ll have to wait until 2023 to find out.
