A lot of smartphones these days come with features that help you track how much time you’ve spent on your phone. The idea is that by creating awareness, users might be more conscious about their activities and might try to cut down their time spent on their phones if they’re discovering that they are indeed spending too much time on a particular app.
OnePlus has gone about it in a different way where back in 2021, the company’s OneLab innovation hub launched the Digital WellPaper app. This is an app that features live wallpapers that includes subtle cues and hints about the time you spend on your phone. Now as part of the company’s Digital Wellbeing campaign, they have updated the app to include new wallpapers and features.
With this update, OnePlus has updated the look of the app and has included three brand new wallpapers (see above) – Botanical Garden, Cosmos, and Donut Shop. This will give users more options to choose from when it comes to customizing the look of their phones. The update will also include new ways for users to check their usage statistics.
It also comes with support for sideloaded apps, which means that users can now assign one of six different categories to sideloaded apps so that the Digital WellPaper app can track it. Users can also opt to not track certain apps if they’re concerned about their privacy, and speaking of privacy, OnePlus says that all these calculations are localized to your device.
If you’re interested in the app, then you can head on over to the Google Play Store to get your hands on it.
