If you paid attention to CES 2022, it was pretty clear that Lenovo has big plans for the upcoming year. The company debuted a new series of laptops, including one that offers a secondary display built into the palm rest. But Lenovo isn’t only looking to help improve the consumer market, as the company just announced two new products designed for the classroom.
The Lenovo 10w is a new Windows 11 tablet powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 platform, while also including stylus support and a rugged design. Meanwhile, the Lenovo 13w Yoga features AMD’s Ryzen 5000 U-Series chipsets, along with running Windows 11 Pro out of the box, and also offering a more rugged build than what you normally find in laptops.
Starting with the 10w, the tablet features a 10.1-inch display, complete with the ability to use a detachable keyboard. This allows students to either use it as a 2-in-1 or to ditch the keyboard while reading books or presentations. Different configurations will be available, as you can get up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of eMMC storage.
Other features of the 10w include a 2MP selfie camera hidden in the bezels on the front, along with an 8MP rear-facing camera. Lenovo claims this will enable students to participate in online learning if needed while being able to snap pictures if they’re on a field trip. Perhaps the best part is that the Lenovo 10w is priced at just $329, and you won’t need to purchase the detachable keyboard separately as it’s included in the box.
Moving to the Lenovo 13w Yoga, there are configurations that max out with AMD’s Ryzen 7 5000 U-Series chipset that was introduced at CES 2022. The touchscreen display measures 13.3-inches while sporting a 1080p resolution and a traditional 16:10 aspect ratio. You’ll also be able to enjoy an optional garaged stylus, which removes any concerns of losing the stylus if you need to use it throughout the day.
With its convertible design, the Lenovo 13w Yoga can transform into a tablet with ease, as the hinges allow you to rotate the display backward. This makes it so that you can use the 13w Yoga in different orientations, which is a common feature found in many of the best laptops for school.
As we mentioned, the Lenovo 13w Yoga is powered by AMD’s latest series of laptop chips, but it also sports user-upgradeable memory and storage. But those who don’t want to do the upgrading themselves can get configurations with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of onboard storage.
Finally, Lenovo is debuting a new “content filtering and online safety solution” called Lenovo NetFilter. This offers cloud-based web filtering while providing schools with the ability to detect and eliminate potential “threats in real-time”. By doing so, this makes it so that school networks are better protected from potential cyber-attacks, spyware, and other harmful dangers that schools may be opened to.
Both the Lenovo 10w and 13w Yoga will launch in April.
