Even if you haven’t been able to get your hands on Sony’s latest PS5 console, the new and improved DualSense controller is one of the most impressive controllers we’ve seen. Naturally, you might find yourself wanting to connect the DualSense to your Android phone to enjoy the best Android games. But until now, the functionality has been a bit limited, as you have not been able to take advantage of some of the controller’s features.
- How to connect the PS5 DualSense controller to your smartphone
- How to pair your PlayStation controller with Stadia
That’s all changed, as an update has come to the PS Remote Play app on the Play Store, which not only includes better compatibility with Android 12 but brings more features. For some, you were not able to actually use the DualSense controller on the new Pixel 6 or any device running Android 12.
This has been rectified with the latest update, while also bringing new features for those who are content with sticking with Sony’s DualShock 4. Those using the DS4, Android 12, and your smartphone can now take advantage of the touchpad, motion sensor, rumble, and can even view the remaining battery.
Remote Play makes it so you can play your favorite PlayStation games from pretty much wherever you are. So you can fire up Ghosts of Tsushima or Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales on your smartphone, connect your PS4 or DualSense controller, and enjoy all of the same features you would if you were actually playing on your console.
Unfortunately, some of the new features included in this latest PS Remote Play update are not available for devices running Android 11 or older. If that’s the case, you’ll just have to wait for Android 12 to arrive on your current smartphone.
