Indie hit ‘Stardew Valley’ now available on Android For $7.99

Last month the developer behind the award-winning indie game Stardew Valley announced that the game would be finally making its way onto Android. Pre-registration for the game opened where it was planned for a release on the 14th of March. For gamers who were looking forward to checking it out, you’ll be pleased to learn that the game is now live.

If you were to head on over to the Google Play Store, you will be able to download the game onto your Android device where it will be priced at $7.99. This is a one-time fee and just like the version on the PC, consoles, and iOS devices, there will be zero in-app purchases so you don’t have to worry about being milked dry.

For those who might be learning about Stardew Valley for the first time, it is a farming sim where the goal of the game is to grow and maintain your farm. You can do pretty much whatever you like in the game, such as get married, have kids, battle monsters, and so on. While there is a score calculated at the end of the “year”, there is no real “end game” and gamers can play for as long as they want, at least until they get bored.

The game relies on cute 8-bit style graphics and features a revamped control and menu system designed for touchscreen devices. Admittedly it does take some getting used to if you’ve played the game on the PC or consoles, but it’s not that steep of a learning curve.
