Next Thursday is Valentine’s Day. To many that may mean it’s that time of year to dive into the closet and pull out those stylish clothes so you look sharp for your significant other. However, once you are looking at your best, where do you take that special person? We’re here to help with a few apps that will help you find a place to get and arrive in style. Take a look.
OpenTable
OpenTable lets you find, explore, reserve, and manage restaurant reservations for your next meal. You can search by various criteria such as cuisine price and distance. Once you find the restaurant, use the app to check out reviews, view the menu and make your reservation. OpenTable lets you earn points from dining that can be used to save on other meals. If you are going to dine with friends, you can use OpenTable to send invites and add the reservation to your calendar.
1800Flowers.com: Send Flowers, Bouquets & Gifts
If you are getting ready for that special occasion, don’t forget to pick up that special flower arrangement to have delivered prior to your special occasion or bring it yourself. The 1800Flowers.com app makes this task simple. Select from dozens of flower arrangements that include combinations of roses, carnations, tulips, sunflowers, orchids, lilies, daisies, along with many more types of flowers. Other non-flower options include chocolate covered strawberries and gourmet cookies. If you are in a hurry, you can order from the 1800Flowers.com app and receive your arrangement the same day.
Edible Arrangements
There are some individuals that aren’t big on flowers but do appreciate receiving a gift arrangement. Let Edible Arrangements help you create the perfect arrangement. Instead of flowers, send that special person an arrangement of chocolate, fruit, or chocolate covered fruit. Not sure what to get? Use the new Gift Finder feature and let the Edible Arrangements experts find the best gift based on the criteria you provide. Edible Arrangements has over 1300 stores across the U.S. allowing same-day delivery of your creatively crafted arrangements. I’ve sent my wife several arrangements and she has yet to be disappointed by an arrangement.
Uber
Uber is one of the most popular ride-sharing services available. Open the Uber app and request a ride. You can see your driver’s photo, information about the vehicle and even track your upcoming ride all within the app. Uber also offers various options for your ride. If you just want a simple point A to point B ride, use UberX. Got a group of friends needing a ride? Use UberPOOL. However, for those special occasions, I suggest UberBLACK for a luxury ride in a high-end vehicle. Rides cost roughly $1.00 to start a ride and then charge $1.50 per mile but prices vary on location, type of vehicle and number of riders.
Lyft
Lyft is another popular ride-sharing service with a companion app. While Uber focuses more on business clientele, Lyft drivers, in general, tend to interact more with their riders and are even encouraged to sit in the front passenger’s seat of their ride. Like Uber, there are various types of vehicles that can be selected for your ride, or you can simply get a ride from the nearest driver to your location. Lyft also provides a first-of-its-kind $1M liability insurance.
