T-Mobile Galaxy S8 Active and S7 Edge now receiving January security patch

0

There are probably loads of people out there still using the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. It’s a fantastic Android device and one that’s still being supported with up to date Android security patches. The latest patch for January is now hitting the S7 Edge on T-Mobile, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active (which actually arrived yesterday).

For the Galaxy S7 Edge, you should see baseband version G935TUVS4BRA1 after updating, while the Galaxy S8 Active will be updated to G892USQS1ARA1. They’re still both running Android 7.0 Nougat, so don’t expect anything outside the usual security patches.

Even then, it’s nice seeing Samsung and T-Mobile much a solid effort at keeping these devices up to date and ensuring their customers are safe against exploits.
