The last few weeks have been pretty exciting for OnePlus fans, as we have seen a boat load of different leaks for the next iteration. The latest news regarding the OnePlus 5 comes from the company’s CEO, where he confirmed that the device will feature a fingerprint scanner on the front of the device.
This isn’t really all that surprising considering the fact that we’ve seen the scanner embedded in the home button on the last few OnePlus iterations. However, there was some hope that OnePlus would look to implement an ultrasonic scanner to really create the next “flagship killer”.
Despite seeing prototypes of the rear of the OnePlus 5, we haven’t seen anything for the front of the device. So there’s still a chance that OnePlus could surprise everyone, but we wouldn’t put our money on it.
As a recap, the OP5 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch FHD display, while being powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC and 6GB of RAM. OnePlus also confirmed it will be working with DxO Labs to make sure that it offers one of the best cameras on the market, once it is released. Oh, and there is a bunch of speculation that the OP5 won’t include a 3.5mm headphone jack, so be prepared to grab your pitchforks (/s).
Let us know whether you would like to see OnePlus change the game and offer an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, or if you want the company to stick with the scanner we’ve seen in the past.
