Delayed Pixel orders are getting as much as $100 for their troubles

0

If getting a voucher for a free Daydream View headset with your Pixel or Pixel XL pre-order wasn’t enough, those who had their orders delayed are getting even more freebies. Google is starting to send vouchers for $50 to use at the Google Store to those who were affected by delays.

What’s more is that some people who were in that bracket of customers were told that they’d be receiving as much as $100 for the mishap.

We’re not sure if the amount would or should differ based on the device you bought or whether Google changed their mind and instead reduced the compensation to $50 as those who claimed to be promised $100 have yet to receive a voucher. We’d guess against the latter scenario as that would draw some nasty ire from those who were promised.

All that aside, compensation is going out, so if you had to wait far longer for your device than expected (we’re talking a few weeks, not a day or 2) then stay on the lookout for the credit to head your way.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
