OnePlus has been in the news the last couple of days after reports surfaced that the company was halting production of the OnePlus 3 to make room for a new device. Some of the rumors suggested that the company was planning to switch to LCD displays, but that was quickly debunked by Carl Pei. Then, other rumors surfaced which suggested that an all new OnePlus 3 was in the works.
This new OnePlus 3 would include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821, which provides a slight performance bump when compared to the Snapdragon 820 which is what can be found in the current model. Now, a new leak shows that a OnePlus device with the model number of A3010 was found in China’s 3C certification approval listing. This is the first step that needs to be taken before getting approved by TENAA to be able to be sold on the market.
The current OnePlus 3’s model number is A3000, so if the A3010 is a new/modified OnePlus 3, it makes sense due to the model numbers being so close. Even though the Pei refuted previous claims of the company switching to LCD panels, this would be the time do so if OnePlus is manufacturing a new device altogether.
We’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled on this one, but if a new OnePlus 3 with the Snapdragon 821 is released, would you be willing to purchase it? If you’ve already purchased the OnePlus 3, would you feel snubbed at all? Sound off and let us know in the comments below.
