PlayStation Vue makes its way to your Android devices next week

The competition to take over your cable needs just expanded a little bit. PlayStation introduced its Vue services back in March and has been slowly expanding its channel selection, as well as compatible devices. Starting today, the service comes to Roku owners, with Android compatibility coming next week.

PlayStation Vue

Here are the three different subscriptions that PlayStation Vue has to offer:

  • Access: 55+ channels, including live cable TV, movies, and sports channels for $29.99 per month ($39.99 in cities with major live local broadcast stations*)
  • Core: 70+ channels, including all the channels from Access with the addition of live national and regional sports networks for $34.99 per month ($44.99 in cities with major live local broadcast stations*)
  • Elite: 100+ channels, featuring all the channels from Core with the addition of top movie and entertainment channels for $44.99 per month ($54.99 in cities with major live local broadcast stations*)

As someone who dabbled with PlayStation Vue on my PS4, it offers a decent selection of channels, and except for the lack of the local sports network (MASN), but is definitely a solid option for those cable-cutters. When released on Android you will be able to download the Vue app on your Android device, then cast the content to your Cast-enabled television.

This may not be for everyone depending upon the local channel selection, but if you want to catch up on your favorite TV shows, PlayStation Vue will be a fine choice. PlayStation is also offering a 7-day free trial for anyone who wants to give Vue a tryout, then you can decide if this service is for you.
