“Nobody cares about updates.” It’s an argument some have made when referring to a large portion of the population more concerned with latest episode The Bachelorette than the Android version number running on their smartphone.

If you needed further proof that non-enthusiasts don’t know their mobile operating system (let alone the version number), Jeopardy is adding fuel to that fire. When asked to name the operating system named after 6.0 Marshmallow, Jeopardy contests had trouble coming up with the correct answer. Here was the exact question as posted on the show:

“Marshmallow is the name of the 6.0 version of this operating system that powers millions of smartphones”

Adding insult to injury, the two contestants that buzzed in guessed iOS (or “eye-oh-ss”), while the 3rd passed on the question altogether. As an Android enthusiast, we know — this is painful to watch, especially considering Jeopardy contests are generally well-versed in their approximate knowledge of most things.
