Lenovo seems to be planning something nice for Mobile World Congress. The company has started teasing a new smartphone that appears to be made from metal, and the teaser appears to be a shot of the Lemon 3, a smartphone that the company is already peddling in China.
A widepsread launch of the Lenovo Lemon 3 would seem to indicate that the company is not willing to allow Xiaomi to take control of the mid-range market without much competition. The device — which sports a 5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display, octa-core Snapdragon 616 chipset, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB ROM with microSD expansion, 13 MP camera nad more — is sure to be priced aggressively to compete with their competitor’s Redmi line.
It falls in line with Lenovo’s latest shift in strategy that’ll have them emphasizing the affordable segment of their brand a lot more as they make room for Motorola’s higher tier lineup. We just weren’t sure how soon that would happen. Mobile World Congress happens less than 2 weeks from now and you won’t want to miss it!
