The LG G Pro 3 is being readied by the South Korean company, and it could turn out to be a bombshell of a device. New rumors suggest the device will come with some of the most insane specs we’ve seen in an LG phone (and any phone) yet.
For starters, LG is reportedly looking to use iris recognition technology that will allow you to unlock your phone with your eyes. The details are scarce, but the thought of an iris scanner phone isn’t all that hard to believe.
Samsung has reportedly been testing phone-sized prototypes of it in their research and development labs, and one Japanese company has already debuted a phone with the tech. It’s not unreasonable to suggest LG is close to debuting one themselves.
Other rumored specs for the LG G Pro 3 read as follows:
- 6-inch 2560 x 1440 display
- Snapdragon 820
- 4GB of RAM
- 20.7 megapixel camera, 8 megapixel front
- 32GB of storage with microSD
That’d be one hell of a smartphone. There’s just one problem: the G Pro series isn’t known to make a splash in western markets. You can be sure to find it in South Korea and other Asian territories when it arrives, but its availability elsewhere might be limited to those who don’t mind importing or buying it unlocked.
Considering the LG G Pro 2 (pictured above) is still more than $500 on Amazon after all this time we’re not too optimistic that the third rendition will be any more economical. Let’s hope things are different this time around.
