Oppo has another new smartphone to toss out into the world. The company has announced the Oppo R1C, a decidedly mid-range offering that packs a respectable bundle of silicon for a somewhat respectable price tag.

Due to launch January 20th for pre-orderers, the Oppo R1C features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 chipset, which is a 64-bit octa-core configuration clocked at 1.5GHz. You’ll also find a 5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage with microSD expansion up to 128GB, a 13 megapixel Sony camera sensor coupled with a 5 megapixel front sensor and a 2,420mAh battery.

The device supposedly looks quite premium thanks to the back of the chassis — you can see your reflection from any angle, apparently, thanks to its sapphire backing. Cool we guess, though that’s no big reason to bring out the trumpets.

It’s also very thin at 6.85mm so if low profile is what you want, that is what you’ll get. It’ll be priced around 2499 RMB, which figures to be about $403 here in the states. Worth it? Your call, but you’ll have to import it if you aren’t currently living in Oppo’s hometown of China.
