  1. I’ve really wanted to use one of these with a go pro and that really cool gimbal camera mount

    Too bad I’m broke.

    1. If your broke…I’m shattered

      1. Does being 2K behind on bills and 30-days late on rent count as broke or shattered?

  2. I have been flying RC aircraft for almost 10 years. When did they become drones?

    1. When it became the new fad term, it will fade away, hopefully soon

    2. They became drones when they became autonomous with very little user input? Just a thought, not sure though

    3. I guess technically we should call them RC Drones? Since the difference between a full size aircraft and a full size drone is the same. The difference is a drone can fly automatically to a specified destination, and operate autonomously. All those years you spent learning how to finely operate rc aircraft, is done by a computer with suggestion from the user.

      1. Well I suppose you could if they are fully upgraded with all available hardware. I have a DJI 550 I built myself with the NAZA system. The fact is it will not fly anywhere by itself unless you upgrade the hardware and get additional software plus an iPad. The only thing this aircraft does by default is return to home if you lose radio signal or command it too. So by default no it is not a drone.

  3. I’ve been flying a Phantom with a custom built gimbal and GoPro for the last month and I must say, it’s definitely a fun time. The quality isn’t all that fantastic but it is definitely buttery smooth and pretty easy to get the hang of.

The only issue for me is that I’m a photographer so flying a quadcopter with such an awful camera always leaves me disappointed with the footage that I get.
