And just like that, Google has officially released the factory images for both the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013 (WiFi). For those with knowledge in these things, these factory images can be flashed to your device where you’ll be running the Android L Developer Preview in no time. Download links provided at the source below. Have fun!
[Android L Developer Preview Factory Images]
To anyone trying out the preview of L, let us know how it runs, and if you think it’s a stable release :)
Yea and I’d really like to see some direct benchmarks to see what ART and the other improvements make. Load times, geekbench, quadrant, linpack, sunspider, etc
Well flashing it was really easy. Seems to be stuck on the “Google” boot screen now though. I’ll probably let it sit for a while and see what happens…
Is this OK when it stuck like that on the Google logo? Because it happened to me and I don’t know if its working or not
I seem to be stuck on the “Google” boot screen as well. Did yours ever boot? I didnt have any errors while flashing…
As usual…no love for the Nexus 10.
Lemon Cake??? L Developer Preview on the website.
That’s not bad… I was cheering for lollipop, but lemon cake is better than. Lemon head.
I’d love to install this, (wish I had a Nexus but stuck on Verizon) but I wouldn’t be so eager to give up the awesome Holo theme for this hideous white cartoon theme in Android L.
So….. You wouldn’t love to install it then would you!
Nah, i’d still love to install it, I just don’t want them to get rid of holo.
Hold has been gone for awhile.
Gonna flash this baby to my HTC Hero, should run smooth
Also has anyone extracted the keyboard apk yet?
That’s all I really want
I like this new UI.
I have a Galaxy S3 on AT&T; would I be able to download it to that, and go around the carrier?
Would a custom ROM accomplish the same thing?
I also own an LG G Pad 8.3, and I’m hoping Google has made changes to Android for tablets, because as it is now, it’s just a giant phone UI, IMO of course. But maybe that’s just LG’s skin that I have an issue with.
I am so confused right now..
No, you can’t install it on a Galaxy S3 unless you know how to port. Even then you have to hope that it wouldn’t brick your device. Same goes for the G Pad 8.3. These factory images are designed for the specified devices. Nexus 5 & Nexus 7 2013 WiFi.
Sweet!
Any words if Android 5.0 will have support for Nexus 4?
Any word on being able to use this on N7 LTE versions?
