Moto X invite

Mark your calendars, folks! We just received our invite to Motorola’s Moto X unveiling event, scheduled for Thursday, August 1st in New York. The invite filled with hipsters shows the black and white color, and we expect even more online via Motorola’s shop. Just because we’ve seen Google Glass-like voice controls, doesn’t mean Motorola doesn’t have a few more tricks up their sleeve for the X. Hit up the Moto X Forums to discuss.

  1. I am super excited for this! I am also wondering if the Moto-X is going to replace this years new Nexus phone?

    1. Once again, the debunker arrives. No Motorola phone will ever be branded as a Nexus phone. This is because Google does not want to give special treatment to it’s subsidiary Motorola. But it will run near stock Android, so it will feel like a Nexus device. Just not branded as such.

  2. This is not the image to add a watermark to :-p

  3. Hoping it’s powerful, thin, light, well built and as close to stock Android as possible.

But come on, all those girls in that picture have iPhones, who are they kidding.

    1. Light and a 64gb model….well at least 32gb

  4. Finally…l absolutely love my Lumia 928 but I may trade it in if Google’s first Motorola phone is as good as I am hoping…if not I’ll continue my much enjoyed Windows vacation little longer…

    1. You mean your Windows exile. Going from Android to Windows Phone sounds more like a punishment. lol.

      1. No, I actually like it. It is a really nice os and the consistency between the apps and os is a joy…that being said can’t wait for another great android device

        1. you mean NO apps on this Winshit crap.

          1. Works for me for my needs, still can’t wait for the Moto x

          2. Windows Phone 8 is only missing 2 critical apps for me : Movipass and SImple

  5. Sweet!

  6. Quick point of interest here – that x is the nexus symbol without the color. I may or may just be reading into it too much though.

    1. good point… google is tricky with that kind of stuff…

    2. No it’s not. The Nexus X is four separate lines, with a gap in the center.

      1. What I mean is that rather than a regular lowercase x where the angles are something like 60° & 30°, that x is a cross where all 4 angles are 90° like with the nexus x. But like I said before, I could definitely just be reading into it too much.

  7. As a Moto fan, I really want to like this phone……..but meh.

  8. Have you ever seen the Nexus “X” before?

  9. Color me Xcited.

  10. Too bad I just got the Note 2. Now, that’s a good phone. Well, hopefully people can still get a good device in the Moto X.

  11. According to The Verge, this chunky turd of a “hero” phone has a whopping 1500mAh battery.

    1. For real?!

      1. And a 4.5″ screen. FML

        1. I share your lack of enthusiasm, sir.

        2. There’s hardly any bezel on that thing! 4.5 means it’s going to be nice and small. Perfect for those that don’t want 5-inch+ devices.

  12. Somebody should tell Motorola that pictures of hipsters doesn’t sell phones.

  13. Would love to see a real MOTO Flagship phone. MotoX is a small, mid-range phone with a great OS .

SEEMS odd neither Google or Motorola are not producing a FlagShip , but let others step up?
