Qualcomm isn’t just focusing on flagship chipsets like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3—the company is also preparing a powerful mid-range contender. The upcoming Snapdragon 8s Elite launch is expected soon, with the first phones using the chip reportedly arriving in April.

Tipster Yogesh Brar shared on social media that multiple devices will feature the Snapdragon 8s Elite, marking a significant step for upper mid-range smartphones. While an earlier leak suggested a March debut, the latest information points to an April release.

Performance-wise, a January leak detailed what we can expect from the new SoC. The Snapdragon 8s Elite launch will introduce a chipset with a Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.21GHz, alongside three performance Cortex-A720 cores at 3.01GHz, two additional A720 efficiency cores at 2.80GHz, and two more efficiency cores running at 2.02GHz. This positions the Snapdragon 8s Elite between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Gen 3, making it a compelling choice for users who want near-flagship performance without the premium price.

As for which brands will adopt the chip, details remain scarce, but rumors suggest iQOO and Redmi will be among the first to feature it. With an April timeframe now in sight, we won’t have to wait long to see how the Snapdragon 8s Elite launch shakes up the mid-range smartphone market.
