YouTube Music could soon offer users a creative way to share songs

If you’ve ever used Spotify before, you might be familiar with one of the app’s features. Users can select a portion of a song’s lyrics and share it with visually appealing images. Now it looks like YouTube Music could be getting a similar feature where users have a more creative way to share their favorite songs.

This is according to an APK teardown of the YouTube Music app by the folks over at Android Authority. According to the report, there is a string the app’s code that references “lyrics share”. That single line of code doesn’t really tell us how exactly this feature will work. However, the wording does seem like a pretty obvious giveaway.

We imagine that users could select lyrics from their favorite songs on YouTube Music and share it in a more creative way. There’s no word on when YouTube Music plans to roll this out to users, but it might be worth keeping an eye out for.

YouTube Music has been slowly becoming a strong competitor to Spotify. The platform has already “borrowed” some of Spotify’s features, so it’s not surprising that this is another feature they are borrowing. In some ways, YouTube Music is more appealing than Spotify. This is because it is included as part of YouTube Premium which removes ads from the video streaming platform.

As YouTube Music gains more features, it would the service even more appealing and could encourage more users to subscribe.
