razer pc remote play

Razer just announced its answer to Steam’s Remote Play

There are different types of cloud gaming. There is the type like NVIDIA’s GeForce Now that lets users stream directly from the company’s servers. Then there are services like Steam’s Remote Play that lets you play games from your PC remotely. It looks like Razer has launched something similar of its own called PC Remote Play.

Basically it is something similar to Steam’s Remote Play. Gamers will be able to stream games from their library to their mobile devices. This is accomplished through the Razer Nexus app which allows gamers to access their games and stream it over the PC Remote Play service.

The company claims that there are “no compromises” when it comes to the visual quality of the games streamed or its speed. We haven’t tried it out ourselves yet so we can’t say for sure if Razer’s claims will live up to the marketing hype. One thing to note is that due to the fact that your PC’s monitor could have a higher resolution than your smartphone’s display, it might not exactly be a 1:1 copy.

Either way, it should still be good enough if you want to get some gaming done on the go. At the moment, the Razer PC Remote Play service is still in beta. Gamers who are interested and want to take it for a spin can find out more details at the company’s website.
