Following the release of Valve’s Steam Deck handheld console, many other companies have followed suit with their own products. In Lenovo’s case, the company announced the Legion Go back in 2023. Now at CES 2025, the company is back with a newer version of the console in the form of the Lenovo Legion Go S.
Rumors and leaks of the console date back to 2024 in a report by VideoCardz.com. The announcement by Lenovo at CES 2025 more or less confirms what we know so far. It also confirmed that there are two models of the Legion Go S – one that is powered by Windows, and the other by SteamOS.
In terms of specs, the console features an 8-inch WUXGA 16:10 120Hz PureSight touch display with VRR1 support. It is powered by the AMD Ryzen Z2 Go or Ryzen Z1 Extreme CPU. It comes with up to 32GB of 7500MHz LPDDR5X RAM, a 3-cell 55.5Wh battery, and weighs just 1.61lbs.
The SteamOS version of the console essentially runs the same hardware as the Windows version. The main difference is in its software. It also makes the Lenovo Legion Go S the world’s first handheld console to officially license the platform. Gamers can look forward to features like cloud saves between their PC and the handheld console. It also supports Remote Play and provides full access to the Steam Store and Steam Library.
Lenovo says that the Legion Go S will be available starting January 2025. It will be priced starting at $729.99, but come May 2025, cheaper configurations will be released starting at $599.99.
