If you’re considering the Samsung Galaxy S25 to be your next smartphone purchase, then a potential launch date for the handset might have been revealed. According to a post on X by @sondesix, the launch date of the Galaxy S25 has been revealed to take place on the 22nd of January, 2025.
The event is reportedly being held in San Jose, California on the 22nd of January, 2025 at 10AM PT. This post seems to corroborate an earlier claim which also hinted that the launch could take place on the 22nd. There was an earlier report that suggested that it might take place on the 5th of January. But it was later speculated that the date could actually be for pre-reservations of the device.
This date doesn’t really come as a complete surprise. Samsung has typically favored the start of the year for its flagship launches. The Galaxy S24 launched in January this year, and the models before that took place in February. Basically, Samsung typically reserves the first quarter of the year for its new flagship phones.
If the 22nd of January date is true, we should expect invites to start going out soon. In the meantime, you might also want to prepare your wallets. According to the latest rumors, a price hike could be coming to the Galaxy S25 series. This is due to the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset which is reportedly more expensive than its predecessor.
