How to reset the iPhone 16 Pro

No one likes it when their phones run into issues. This is because of how reliant we have become on our mobile devices for work, school, and communication. We use it to make payments, perform banking transactions, order food, and more. That being said, if your iPhone 16 Pro runs into an issue, a reset might be called for. In this guide we’ll show you a couple of different ways you can go about doing so, and hopefully it will solve any issues you have.

Force restart iPhone 16 Pro

  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button
  3. Press and hold the side button
  4. Hold the side button until the Apple logo appears
  5. Once the logo appears, release the side button and wait for the phone to restart itself

Take note that force restarting the iPhone 16 Pro can help solve some issues that you are experiencing. For instance, if the phone refuses to turn off the regular way, a force restart can help. However, there might be an instance where it isn’t good enough. There could be deeper system issues that a force restart cannot fix. In that case, factory resetting the iPhone 16 Pro might be necessary.

Factory reset iPhone 16 Pro

  1. Go to the iPhone 16 Pro’s Settings app
  2. Tap on General > Transfer or Reset
  3. Tap on “Erase all contents and settings”
  4. Tap on “Continue”
  5. You might be asked to enter your Apple ID and password as a means of authentication
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen
  7. Depending on how much data is stored on your iPhone, the factory reset process could take several minutes
  8. Once it’s done, all the data on your iPhone 16 Pro should be erased and it will look like it’s brand new from the day you bought it

Before you factory reset the iPhone 16 Pro, you should definitely back everything up first if that’s possible. You can do so manually via iTunes, or back up your data to the cloud using services like Dropbox, Google Drive, or Apple’s very own iCloud. Factory resetting can also be useful if you plan to sell or give away your device as it ensures that all your personal and sensitive data has been removed.
