The Samsung Galaxy S24 series of phones are pretty slim devices. But if you are hoping that future versions could be slimmer, then you might be interested to learn that there are rumors that Samsung could be creating an ultra-thin version of the Galaxy S25 that will launch in 2025.
This is according to a report from Korean publication ETnews who claims that an ultra-thin variant of the Galaxy S25 could launch next year. Apparently this version might not launch alongside the regular Galaxy S25 series. Instead, it could launch after the Galaxy S25 and could also be produced in a limited amount.
This is because Samsung wants to gauge the reaction of the public before committing to the form factor for future releases. What’s interesting is that Samsung isn’t alone in creating a thinner version of its phones. There have been rumors suggesting that Apple could also be looking into something similar, which at the moment is being referred to as the iPhone 17 Air.
It’s an interesting approach because over the years, we’ve noticed that there has been less of an obsession in device thickness. Instead, manufacturers are focusing more on features like cameras, battery life, and display. However, as the display sizes of our devices increase, having a thinner device could help reduce the overall weight, so maybe this is a good direction.
