New Software Patch Improves the Xperia 1 VI’s Wi-Fi Capabilities
It might be a small update, but Sony recently announced that it’s rolled out a software update for the Sony Xperia 1 VI, which finally brings support for Wi-Fi 7 compatibility. For context, the phone was only limited to Wi-Fi 6E speeds, and the new update should provide a significant boost for users.
The update comes with software version number 69.0.A.2.44, and features the September 2024 security patch for Android devices. The update is now available for Xperia 1 VI models worldwide.
In other recent Xperia news, Sony recently announced that the Xperia 1 VI will now be available in a “scarlet” red color, which according to the company can look either “bright orange or dark red depending on the angle of view or environment.” Aside from the new color variant, the rest of the phone’s specifications remain the same.
This includes the 19.5:9 FHD+ resolution display, 48 MP, f/1.9, 24mm primary lens, a 12 MP, f/2.3, 85mm telephoto lens, as well as a 12 MP, f/2.2, 16mm ultra wide camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage, and a 5,000 mAh battery. The phone will be available starting on October 14 for €1499/£1399.
