When it comes to major Android updates, Samsung has actually done a pretty good job with being timely with their rollouts. Take for example One UI 6, which was based on Android 14. That update was released in October last year, not too long after Google released it. Unfortunately, Samsung says that One UI 7, based on Android 15, will come much later.
During the keynote for the Samsung Developer Conference, the company revealed that the next One UI update will only launch “on the next Galaxy”. Presumably the company is talking about the Galaxy S25 series which will launch in the early part of 2025. This means that compared to One UI 6, One UI 7 will come at a much later date.
To be fair, Samsung released the Galaxy S24 series in January 2024. Assuming they keep to schedule, the Galaxy S25 should be released roughly in the same timeframe. This means that we won’t have to wait too long, although it is longer than what some Samsung users are used to.
Samsung did mention that they will release the beta for One UI 7 by the end of the year, so that’s something that users can look forward to if they’re curious about the changes the company will make in the update.
