One of the reasons why you would get a Google Pixel phone over any other Android brand is because of the updates. Google usually seeds the latest version of Android to its Pixel phones before the rest, but unfortunately that isn’t the case this year. In fact, that “honor” went to Vivo who is reportedly rolling out Android 15 for the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro.
This is according to a report from Ishan Agarwal on X whose Vivo X Fold 3 Pro just received the Android 15 update. If you happen to own the handset, then perhaps you should keep an eye out for the update as it should be making its way to your phone as we speak.
Google was kind of late to the party this year. The company had previously released the AOSP build, which is what most Android OEMs rely on to build their version of Android 15. However, Google has yet to push out the update to their Pixel phones. In fact, recent reports suggest that the Android 15 update for the Pixel phones could still be a week or so away.
Over the years, Android OEMs have picked up the pace in which they have released major updates. Companies like Samsung are usually among the first few to do so, although this year was a bit of a surprise to see Vivo be the first to release Android 15 for its products.
