Spotify control just got a lot easier for OnePlus and Oppo phones

If you play games while listening to music, then you know that when it comes to playback controls, you basically need to pause your game to access them. The good news is that if you own either a phone made by OnePlus or Oppo, then Spotify has a new exclusive feature that could make life a lot easier.

This is according to OnePlus founder and Oppo chief product officer, Pete Lau, who revealed on X that there is a new Spotify game overlay tool for phones made by OnePlus and Oppo.

Basically this overlay will show three pages of Spotify playlists which you can access and tap on them to change songs or playlists. It also shows users a “recently played” page of playlists, and also a widget that lets you skip songs. Oddly enough, as if this feature wasn’t already exclusive enough, Lau revealed that it would only be available in “select markets”.

We’re not sure why that is the case, but hopefully it will expand to more markets in the future. Or even better, Spotify will release a similar feature that will be available to all phones as it sounds like an incredibly useful feature for those who don’t want to pause whatever they’re doing just to control music playback.
