Repairing a smartphone’s display through official channels is not cheap. Repairing a foldable phone is even more expensive. But what happens when it is a phone with a triple-screen foldable display? If you’re wondering about the repair costs for the Huawei Mate XT, you might want to sit down.
According to the official price list of repairs published on Huawei’s website, it seems that if you want to repair the display of the Huawei Mate XT, you’ll have to pay a whopping 7,999 CNY, which is roughly $1,125. It goes even higher if you want to keep the old display at 9,799 CNY. But if you opt for a refurbished screen, it’ll be slightly cheaper at 6,999 CNY.
That is a lot of money. In fact, for $1,125 you could easily buy a high-end flagship like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, or even an iPhone. You could also buy another foldable like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, or multiple units of Motorola’s recent Razr 50 smartphones.
We can’t say we’re surprised at the costs, though. The screen is considerably bigger and more complex than your typical foldable. As such, repairing it shouldn’t come cheap. This could be something you might want to think about if you are planning on getting your hands on the Huawei Mate XT.
