After endless weeks and months of speculation and rumors, Sony finally (and officially) unveiled the Ps5 Pro, which packs some considerable improvements to the original PS5’s performance, as well as a slightly-revamped design that doesn’t stray too much from Sony’s product identity.
According to Sony, The PS5 Pro comes with a significantly upgraded GPU with 67% more Compute Units and 28% faster memory, resulting in up to 45% faster rendering for smoother gameplay. There’s also advanced ray tracing allowing for more dynamic lighting effects, as well as AI-powered upscaling for added detail. Other enhancements include PS5 Pro Game Boost for improved performance which will work with compatible PS4 games, as well as enhanced image quality for select PS4 titles, and support for Wi-Fi 7, VRR, and 8K gaming.
Games which support PS5 Pro enhancement features include titles such as Alan Wake 2, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Demon’s Souls, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Gran Turismo 7, Hogwarts Legacy, Horizon Forbidden West, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, The Crew Motorfest, The First Descendant, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, and more.
As for its design, Sony has kept the PS5 Pro at the same height with the original model, and it will also be compatible with customizable covers, as well as external storage devices. It’s priced at $699, and will be available starting on November 7 this year.
