Meet the Nitro Blaze 7, Acer’s New Handheld Gaming PC
Portable gaming PCs are terrific – they usually come with high-end components and performance, allowing you to play titles that otherwise would usually require a powerful PC (or a laptop at the very least) to run, all while fitting in your backpack. It’s no surprise then that companies like ASUS, Lenovo, and even Valve have gotten in on the action, and it looks like Acer has finally joined the club.
Revealed during IFA 2024, the Acer Nitro Blaze 7 comes with everything you’d expect from a modern handheld. Up front is a 7-inch 144Hz display, while inside the handheld is an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, aided by up to 2 TB of storage and 16 GB of LPDDR5x memory. There’s also support for expandable microSD storage, as well as a 50.04 Wh Li-Polymer battery.
As for controls, the Nitro Blaze 7 comes with pretty much all you need to navigate through your games – there’s a complete set of action buttons, D-Pad, LB/RB Bumpers, L/R analogue sticks, LT/RT Hall effect triggers, a power switch with fingerprint scanning, and even a dedicated Acer Game Space button, to name a few.
At the moment however, Acer has kept mum on the device’s pricing and availability, although we’re hoping that we won’t have to wait too long to get our hands on one.
