The other day, we reported that Huawei is gearing up to launch a triple-screen foldable phone as soon as next month. It turns out Huawei won’t be alone in this as Xiaomi is said to be working on their own triple-screen foldable phone, but we might have to wait until next year to see it in action.
This is according to a post on Weibo by tipster Smart Pikachu. According to the post, they claim that the Xiaomi triple-screen foldable is apparently set to debut in 2025. Or to be more specific, it will make an appearance at MWC 2025 which is typically scheduled towards the end of February.
Apart from the rumor that such a device exists, not much is known about Xiaomi’s upcoming handset. For instance, what chipset will it run? Will it use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4? Or will it use something else like a MediaTek Dimensity chipset? How big is the screen? Those are questions that remain unanswered.
That being said, we’re still quite a long ways away from MWC 2025. Hopefully Xiaomi will tease something in the coming months. But what do you think? Are triple-screen foldable phones going to be the new standard for foldables moving forwards?
