Earlier this month, a photo was posted online which showed Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong holding what appears to be a foldable phone with a triple-screen. Now, sometimes company executives might use prototypes of upcoming devices to test its functionality and viability as a daily driver, but it looks like this smartphone could be coming sooner than we thought.
According to a report from MyDrivers, it seems that the handset could actually launch next month. Apparently during a car event where Yu personally handed over the vehicles to their new owners, one of them brought up the triple-screen foldable and asked when he would be able to buy it. According to Yu, the executive claimed it would be available next month.
We’ve heard rumors of a triple-screen foldable phone from Huawei back in 2023. It was unclear back then what was the progress of its development. But if Yu’s comments are accurate, it looks like the handset is about ready to hit the market. It’s worth noting that since we didn’t actually hear the conversation, there’s a chance it might have been misheard.
It seems odd that Huawei’s CEO would so casually hand out such information instead of through more official channels. Either way, it will be interesting to see such a handset arrive in the market. But what do you think? Is a triple-screen foldable something you might be interested in?
