One of our main gripes about the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is that it doesn’t feel like the company cares too much about its foldables. Its design is more or less the same with some slight iterations here and there. It is also quite a thick phone compared to the competition. But if you’re a Samsung fan, then keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim.
According to Korean publication The Chosun Daily, it seems that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim is scheduled for a launch this September in South Korea. The report claims that this device will measure a little over 10mm thick. For context, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 measures 12.1mm thick when folded shut.
Other competing handsets like the recently launched Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold measures 10.5mm folded shut, and the Honor Magic V3 takes the crown at a mere 9.3mm thick. This is obviously much thicker compared to traditional phones, but given that it is a foldable, it is understandable.
It is unclear if there will be any other differences apart from it being thinner. We have heard rumors that there could be an “Ultra” model, but we haven’t really heard anything about that since. Either way, take it with a grain of salt but if this report is accurate, we should have the details next month.
