While a lot of recent fanfare surrounding Square Enix is centered around its Final Fantasy VII remake series, the company has continued its work on other current titles such as Final Fantasy XVI, which was launched last year for the PlayStation 5. While the game has been a Sony exclusive up until now, this will no longer be the case moving forward.
To be more specific, FF XVI will soon arrive for PC gamers by way of Steam and the Epic Games Store on September 17. Additionally, DLC for the game which consists of “Echoes of the Fallen” and “The Rising Tide” will be included as part of the complete edition on the same date. Part of Square Enix’s official press release reads:
Players can now pre-purchase the FINAL FANTASY XVI Standard Edition, which includes the base game, or the Complete Edition, which will also include the exciting DLC chapters “Echoes of the Fallen” and “The Rising Tide” at a discounted price. Further, players who are interested in purchasing the DLC chapters individually or as the FINAL FANTASY XVI Expansion Pass, which includes both chapters, may do so at launch.
Furthermore, players who pre-purchase the game on either platform will receive in-game DLC items including the Brave Blade Weapon, Cait Sith Charm, and “Sixteen Bells” Orchestrion Roll.
