Huawei Nova Flip 6 benchmark results are disappointing

The other day we reported on the potential specs of the upcoming Huawei Nova Flip. The handset is expected to pack a Kirin 9000 series chipset, which is supposed to be Huawei’s flagship series. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like it’s up to scratch. This is according to benchmarks of the Huawei Nova Flip that suggest mid-range performance.

According to the benchmarks found on Geekbench, the Huawei Nova Flip scored 1,000 in single-core performance, and 2,419 in multi-core performance. For context, other flagship foldables like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 from 2023 scored 1,984 in single-core and 5,149 in multi-core.

This is quite a stark contrast compared to Huawei’s upcoming foldable. We were initially excited at the possibility of seeing a Kirin chipset built on the 5nm process. However, looking at these scores, it seems that Huawei’s Kirin chipset isn’t close to what the competition is putting out there.

Now, it is possible that the previous specs were wrong, and that Huawei could be using a mid-range chipset. If that is the case, it is understandable. Its more direct competitor would then be the Motorola Razr (2024). Either way, we should have the official details soon, so check back with us later for updates.
