Pixel 9 Series Might Not Launch with Android 15

While we’re getting closer to the launch of both Android 15 and the Pixel 9 phones, it looks like Google’s upcoming flagship devices might not launch with Android 15 onboard as previously thought. This is according to a new report from the folks over at Android Headlines, which now states that Android 15 might launch at a later date.

Google recently announced the final beta update for Android 15, meaning that it’s nearing the stable roll-out for the platform’s next major updgrade. Android 14 arrived alongside the Pixel 8 phones in October last year, albeit a later than Google’s usual release timeframe. Prior to this, past versions of Android arrived a bit earlier at around August or September.

Google’s Pixel 9 series phones have been leaked to oblivion over the past few weeks, with most details already available to the public via unofficial sources online, who have managed to get ahold of several promotional materials for the devices. New upgrades include a larger base RAM configuration, as well as new camera hardware components.

With that being said, while the Pixel 9 phones might not come with Android 15 pre-installed, it’s thought that an immediate upgrade to Android 15 will be ready upon release.
