The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 was announced not too long. It is a powerful Android smartphone, no doubt, but we’re sure some of you might have some questions regarding the durability of foldable devices. If you’re thinking about buying the phone, there are some durability upgrades in the Galaxy Z Flip 6 that should please you.
This is according to a video by YouTuber JerryRigEverything. In the video, he put the Flip 6 through its paces to see how much more durable it is compared to its predecessor. We all know that Samsung is undisputed when it comes to making great quality phones with premium materials, so this shouldn’t be too big of a surprise.
One of the main highlights is the display. As it turns out, Samsung has made improvements to the durability of the display of the Flip 6, where the crease is no longer as visible.
The dreaded crease is something all foldable phones have to deal with, not just phones made by Samsung. This is due to the material used for flexible displays, where over time, a crease develops. This isn’t just an aesthetic issue. Sure, it looks unsightly, but the crease can also create an uneven surface which can ruin the experience.
The test also reveals some improvements made to the hinge. Despite pouring a handful of sand purposefully onto the hinge, it did not seem to catch. Overall, it seems to be a slightly more durable successor to the Flip 5.
It’s good to see that Samsung has taken the feedback of its customers seriously over the years and improved the durability of its foldable phones. Not only is the Galaxy Z Flip 6 incredibly stunning, but it’s also the most durable flip phone Samsung has ever made.
